Aware Of Amazon Cloud Pricing

 Amazon Web Services is a collection of remote computing services that together make up a cloud computing platform, offered over the Internet by The most central and well-known of these services are Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3.


Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides re sizable compute capacity in the Amazon cloud. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.

          Amazon EC2’s simple web service interface allows you to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. It provides you with complete control of your computing resources and lets you run on Amazon’s proven computing environment. Amazon EC2 reduces the time required to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes, allowing you to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as your computing requirements change. Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing by allowing you to pay only for capacity that you actually use.


       Here I am going to expalin on BASIC (FREE).  Before enter into this topic I’m want to thank the many people who helped us do research on amazon cloud.

Does Amazon Cloud charge you for using Free Trail???…..

obviously amazon cloud won’t charge, unless your usage of amazon does not exceed the usage limit. So before you start using AWS  it is extremely important  to be aware on how to use the free service otherwise you will end up being billed for your usage of amazon cloud. We were billed  $270 during our first month. So our aim is to ensure you dont go thru the same experience like us, Below is a screenshot from our first month of free usage.

    Don’t worry we’ll help you ensure that this does not happen to you.

Before you get started with using Amazon cloud. These are the basic things you need to understand.

AWS Free Tier (Per Month)

1) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)

This is the instances you going to use it on Amazon cloud. Instances in the senses like windows, Linux Operating System. Here, you should aware of how no of instances allow to use by amazon cloud? If u cross your limit you charged by amazon. Don’t worry now i’ll give instruction to safety use,

  • 750 hours of Amazon EC2 Linux t.2 micro instance usage (1 GiB of memory and 32-bit and 64-bit platform support) – enough hours to run continuously each month*
  • 750 hours of Amazon EC2 Microsoft Windows Server† t.2 micro instance usage (1 GiB of memory and 32-bit and 64-bit platform support) – enough hours to run continuously each month*
  • 750 hours of an Elastic Load Balancer plus 15 GB data processing*
  • 30 GB of Amazon Elastic Block Storage in any combination of General Purpose (SSD) or Magnetic, plus 2 million I/Os (with EBS Magnetic) and 1 GB of snapshot storage*

NOTE:  while you are not using the instances, ensure yourself to stop the instances before logout of everyday. No issues on stop you instances, whenever you need it just start the instances and use it.

2) Simple Storage Service (S3)

This is the space for free usage upto 5GB on the Amazon cloud and another cases is while user access this space ie.., GET and PUT requests should not exceed 20,000.

  • 5 GB of Amazon S3 standard storage, 20,000 Get Requests, and 2,000 Put Request

3) DynamoDB

100 MB of storage, 5 units of write capacity, and 10 units of read capacity for Amazon DynamoDB.

4) Relational Database Service (RDS)

This is the Database usage providing by the amazon cloud, I Recommend you to wont use it before reading this following instruction because if your usage of RDS was cross the limit then they charge you huge amount.

  • 750 hours of Amazon RDS Single-AZ Micro DB Instances, for running MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle BYOL or SQL Server (running SQL Server Express Edition) – enough hours to run a DB Instance continuously each month*
  • 20 GB of database storage
  • 10 million I/Os
  • 20 GB of backup storage for your automated database backups and any user-initiated DB Snapshots

5) Data Transfer

This thing will anymore charge u daily it’s purely depends on your running time of instances, Downloading the file, Bandwidth. Only thing is mind it u can reduce this cost by stop the instances when not in use & don’t download much file from amazon unless u need it.

  • 15 GB of bandwidth out aggregated across all AWS services*

6) Amazon CloudFront

  • 50 GB Data Transfer Out, 2,000,000 HTTP and HTTPS Requests of Amazon CloudFront*
  • 1,000,000 Requests of Amazon Simple Queue Service**
  • 1,000,000 Requests, 100,000 HTTP notifications and 1,000 email notifications for Amazon Simple Notification Service**

7) ElastiCache

  • 750 hours of Amazon ElastiCache – enough hours to run a Cache Node continuously each month.

8) Simple Workflow (SWF)

  • 1,000 Amazon SWF workflow executions and a total of 10,000 activity tasks, signals, timers and markers, and 30,000 workflow-days.*

Amazon cloud really sees good to use it have lot of advantages but my thought was beginner knows this before enter into Amazon cloud. use this link to create account with amazon cloud and once again i’m thank Mr.solomon for giving us opportunity to do research on Amazon cloud.
