Match Shapes

In this Learning tutorial for shape we will be using a concept of  match the shapes using PowerPoint 2007.  Shapes and size can also be taught by using natural objects like vegetables or fruits.

There are many definition to a Shape. Following are 4 different definition to understand shape.

Shape can also be more loosely defined as “the appearance of something, especially its outline“. This definition is consistent with the above, in that the shape of a set does not depend on its position, size or orientation.

The shape of an object located in some space is a geometrical description of the part of that space occupied by the object, as determined by its external boundary, location, orientation in space, size, and other properties such as colour, content, and material composition.

Simple shapes can be described by basic geometry objects such as a set of two or more points, a line, a curve, a plane, a plane figure or a solid figure .

A more flexible definition of shape takes into consideration the fact that realistic shapes are often deformable, e.g. a person in different postures, a tree bending in the wind or a hand with different finger positions.

In this tutorial we have combined all our experience and have created this learning kit for teaching shapes and Sizes using the principal of matching objects.   Jazz Presentation graphics team have made the learning full of fun by including animation, sound effects and graphics. Learning Theory

Learning theories are conceptual frameworks that describe how information is absorbed, processed, and retained during learning. Learning brings together cognitive, emotional, and environmental influences and experiences for acquiring, enhancing, or making changes in one’s knowledge, skills, values, and world views.

There are three main categories of learning theory: behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. Behaviorism focuses only on the objectively observable aspects of learning. Cognitive theories look beyond behavior to explain brain-based learning. And constructivism views learning as a process in which the learner actively constructs or builds new ideas or concepts.

In this tutorial We will be teaching shapes and sizes using behaviorism, cognitivism, and JazzPresentation interactive method using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007.
